We can learn much about discipleship from the women in the New Testament. These women functioned in a wide array of roles and positions in society, but all appointed themselves as believers and students of Jesus. They chose to become His disciples. They were healed, physically and spiritually. They were changed by Him. They testified of Him. They chose to follow His lead to serve. Studying their lives, as detailed in scripture, not only reveals the value of women in the Lord’s Church but also helps deepen our understanding of the Savior Himself.

In this volume, seven female scholars examine over twenty different women in the New Testament. While each author brings a unique approach and highlights different aspects of these women’s lives, they all showcase why their stories matter to us today. All together, the profiles of the women found in this book create an image of dedicated discipleship—an inspiration to any Latter-day Saint striving to become a more devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
