As a part of its 140th anniversary the Relief Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began a Legacy Lecture series in March 1982. These Lectures have continued on a monthly basis since. Many women have been invited to share their talents and skills, illustrating the great contribution of the women of the Church. They subjects of the lectures represent choices they've made and the diligence and dedication they've shown toward achieving excellence. We live in stressful times, and it is a fact that we all encounter stress in our lives. Recognizing and learning to handle it appropriately is the focus of this lecture by Sharon L. Staples. She discusses both the physical and mental consequences of stress as well as the spiritual. She states that stress is prevalent among Latter-day Saints as they struggle to meet the demands of family, Church, employment, community, and friends. She concludes with several helpful suggestions for coping with stress. (Converted from Cassette)
