Jason Martin arrives in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as a missionary and is assigned to build an orphanage with a former Congolese revolutionary named Gabriel Ngandu. As they work together to become true companions and overcome tragic events in their pasts, Elder Martin opens his heart to a beautiful nation and people on the brink of magnificent possibilites.

Heart of Africa 2: Companions tells the same story as Heart of Africa but from a different point of view. Unlike the firm film, which focuses on Elder Ngandu, Companions focuses on Elder Martin.
