David R. Hocking is an accomplished guitarist and singer, a former member of BYU's Young Ambassadors (1969-70). He has a diverse educational background with degrees in electronics engineering and microbiology. David spent several decades in the biotech industry and was the author of many technical papers in that field. David also developed and holds the patent to a rapid test that can detect various forms of sickle cell disease in newborns, children, and adults.
More recently, David has focused his energy on researching ways to illuminate sacred texts. He has been reformatting scripture to help readers better understand them with increased comprehension. He is the managing editor of the Annotated Scripture Series, which was created to help readers understand the everlasting gospel as explained in all of the sacred texts, together with what the modern prophets and apostles have taught.
Brother Hocking did not take a rest after the release of the three Annotated volumes (Book of Mormon, Book of Jasher, Book of Isaiah). Indeed, he went straight to work on the next sacred text in the series, the Annotated Book of Enoch. This apocryphal text includes details about life during the time of Adam and the conditions before the Great Flood. It goes into much detail about Noah's time before during and after the Flood, Enoch expands on the text of Genesis, and goes through to the Millennial reign of Christ, just to name a few.
