The second book in the series from The Maxwell Institute ''The Book of Mormon: Brief Theological Introductions'' Often considered one of the hardest books of scripture to understand, 2nd Nephi is the topic of this theological introduction from author Terryl Givens. Givens considers 2nd Nephi "the most important book in the Book of Mormon". Givens explains the significance of there being a 2nd book bearing the name of Nephi and how the narrative differs between the two books. This book also considers two primary goals for Nephi's writing in 2nd Nephi. First, reassuring his people that God has not forgotten them and that they are a covenant people. Second, reminding them that Jesus Christ is essential to that covenant.
