Do you struggle knowing when the spirit is speaking to you? How do you know when you’re receiving revelation from the Holy Ghost? These are very real, common questions for members of the Church and today, Ganel-Lyn and Scott are here to help you answer those questions for yourselves by first asking you these three questions: 1. Instead of asking how to hear the spirit, ask yourself this: Why do I want God to speak to me? 2. If God gave me direction to do something difficult, would I be ready to do it? 3. What difference would it make if I could hear the voice of God more consistently in my life? By answering these questions sincerely, you’re readying your heart and mind to be more open to the spirit of revelation, which is a step-by-step process. It can also be easy to think that everyone has to feel the spirit a certain way (which is not true), especially when reading D&C 9:8 where it says “your bosom shall burn within you.” Remember that this is a revelation to Oliver. If your bosom has never burned within you, that does not mean you have never felt the spirit. It means you feel the spirit a different way. It means you need to ask yourself, “What are the specific ways I feel the spirit?”
