What would you do if your community fell apart around you? What small differences between you and others would you disregard in order to make it through? What is stopping you from disregarding those things now? Amid the polarization, mudslinging, and overall negativity of 2020 (and life in general), it’s easy to feel lost and alone, but it doesn’t need to be that way. As we cover 3 Nephi 1–7 this week, we learn about the Nephites, who suffered from a corrupt government, the rise of the Gadianton robbers, and, of course, the ever-present pride cycle. They must have felt disconnected and sometimes hopeless in their situation, and sadly, our story is feeling more and more like theirs in our turbulent times. However, not all hope is lost. We can choose to be unified in love with those around us. We can listen to and become a righteous leader like Gidgiddoni. We can be a disciple of Christ like Mormon, even and especially when it isn’t easy. We can seek to stay in tune with the Lord's will and strive to see His miracles in our lives.
