This important trilogy of gospel truths, revised, enlarged, and rearranged, has special significance as we enter a new decade of advancement of the work of God and the efforts of Satan to thwart and frustrate its progress. The author, whose works are well known throughout the Church, has placed special emphasis in this second edition on "The Day of the Gentile." The subject matter has been enlarged and up-dated and placed as the first section of the book. This section more particularly deals with the "foreordained plan of salvation affecting the lives of those who are the ethnic descendants of Japheth and his seven sons who by ancient covenant . . . can come in and be numbered among the chosen of the Lord." The author stresses that the times of the gentiles are upon us and a light has broken forth which is the fullness of the gospel, and is now being taken by the heralds of truth to those that sit in darkness. The other two sections of the book, "The Meaning of Truth" and "The Kingdom of Evil," are also important to our day. Elder Dyer writes with clarity about Lucifer, the arch enemy of the Savior, and his attempt to establish his evil kingdom. He makes understandable the efforts of Lucifer to thwart and frustrate God's work in this day of the gentile and tells of the ultimate defeat and banishment of the devil and his followers to be accomplished by the light of truth from those who elect to follow the way of the Lord. This work is not only vital in understanding the events of the modern day in which we live, but it is also interesting and informative reading relative to the Lord's plan of salvation.
