Distinguishing characteristics of both priestcraft and priesthood serve as a warning against the former and a guide to magnifying splendidly one’s calling in the latter. The summarizing invitation comes to walk in the Master’s ways and to serve with love.

The Power and the Promise gives insightful meaning to the expressions “Magnify your calling,” “Honor your priesthood.” It shows both men and women how they can increasingly and joyously elevate their lives to share more fully in the blessings of the priesthood. And it sets out clearly and encouragingly how a priesthood holder can improve his use of this sacred power to further the Lord’s cause.
