In this inspiring talk, popular author and speaker Kim Nelson reminds us that Heavenly Father desires to bless us in spite of our imperfections. Quoting from Matthew, Brother Nelson tells us that if a son asks his father for bread, he won’t give him a stone; or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a serpent. In the same way, God has an abundance of blessings to pour out upon us if we live for them. “It is my belief,” says Brother Nelson, “that as we seek good gifts, as we come to know what God’s intentions are for us, we begin to believe in the abundance that is ours in the world. I know that we have a Father who loves us beyond measure. He doesn’t give stones and serpents, but only loaves and fishes.” This talk is a loving reminder of God’s goodness, even in times of trial. “Sometimes we get a little discouraged because we have done our best but it just isn’t good enough,” says Brother Nelson. “Somehow in those times, someone delivers a fish or a loaf and feeds me.” He challenges us to remember God’s intention as stated in the Gospel of John: “I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
