History in the Baking
Built in 1856 by Territorial Governor Brigham Young, the Lion House is one of Salt Lake City's most famous and treasured landmarks. The house derives its name from the trademark lion reclining above the front entrance. The home was designed by Truman O. Angell, architect of the famous Salt Lake Temple located just a block away. Today, the Lion House closely resembles the original structure and houses the world-famous Pantry Restaurant. The Pantry offers home-cooked recipes, passed down from generation to generation. Picnic Brownies are a perennial favorite of the thousands of visitors who frequent the establishment every year.
Enjoy the homemade goodness of the Lion House Pantry anytime, anywhere! The picnic brownies are full of delicious, chocolatey goodness.
