Pulling a buddy from a foxhole under heavy enemy fire, racing into a burning building to save a child, or diving into icy water to rescue a stranger—these are the heroic acts that make the headlines and compel our admiration.

But there are other heroes in our world, "everyday heroes"—ordinary people who do things we might not normally classify as heroic.

Of such, President Howard W. Hunter said, "I am confident that there are many great, unnoticed, and forgotten heroes among us. I am speaking of those of you who quietly and consistently do the things you ought to do. I am talking about those who are always there and always willing."

Elder Jeffery R.
