It is something that many converts to the Church experience – euphoric enthusiasm for their newfound faith followed by either lukewarm participation or even inactivity.  Converted to the Church over thirty years ago, author Peggy St. Ort remembers well the challenges that face the new member and she offers sound advice on how to move from conversion to commitment, from irresolute membership to a devotion that will not recounting several interesting episodes in her life and in the lives of others, the author provides an apt description of the convert's growth process—becoming accustomed to new words and activities, developing good habits like scripture study and keeping the Word of Wisdom, accepting callings, following Church leaders, and enduring to the end. Most welcome are her suggestions that can help converts work through problems they may face, including the common experience of feeling offended by another member's words or actions.
