Lehi was the first prophet in The Book of Mormon. Six hundred years before Christ, Lehi was warned by the Lord to leave his home to avoid the impending destruction of Jerusalem. Lehi led his family and others on an amazing journey from Jerusalem to the western hemisphere. The Liahona he holds was a compass given to him by the Lord to lead his family on their journeys.
